CASTLETON GARDENS, JUNCTION ROAD, ST. MARY, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM December 14, 2013: AIR-PAASA Foundation presents our Annual “Dance Theatre Arts Picnic – 2”.
Over the last 3 years AIR-PAASA has embarked on a community dance development initiative which has seen growth and interest in dance in several institutions across Jamaica. Our Artists in Residency program currently supports 5 schools and approximately 109 students between the ages of 3 – 18 years:
• Jamaica House Basic School
• Quest Preparatory School
• Sun-Rays Educational Centre
• Hopie’s Pre-School
• The Academy
This year’s Dance Theatre Arts Picnic will be on the grounds of the oldest botanical gardens in the western hemisphere. We will be featuring dances from the various schools listed above. There will be music, dance, story-telling, pilates, games etc.
Persons who wish to attend or participate in this event can purchase their tickets at the schools listed above.
This event is for all ages: children, teens and adults… this family event is aimed at inspiring, encouraging and stimulating movement for health, fitness and holistic development through the performing arts. It presents an opportunity to see our talented young dancers perform works in progress (for some, their first public performance) in addition it is for those who love to have a picnic in a scenic location.
Tickets are $1,500.00 adults and $1,100 for children. This includes lunch and transportation to and from Castleton Gardens, departing from our designated pick up points.
